Dr. Manfred Mudelsee

Chief Executive Officer, and founder of Climate Risk Analysis in 2005.

Diploma in Physics (University of Heidelberg, Germany), doctoral degree in Geology (University of Kiel, Germany), Postdoc in Statistics (University of Kent, Canterbury, UK). Positions as research scientist in meteorology (University of Leipzig, Germany) and visiting scholar in Earth Sciences (Boston University, USA), currently visiting scientist at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (Bremerhaven, Germany).

Dr. Mudelsee has published about 80 peer-reviewed papers in international journals. Over 20 years research experience. His science focuses on climate and weather extremes, climate time series analysis, risk analysis and mathematical simulation methods.

In his 2003 Nature paper (Vol. 425, p. 166–169), Dr. Mudelsee introduced the bootstrap simulation method to flood risk analysis.

Dr. Mudelsee also wrote a book "Climate Time Series Analysis: Classical Statistical and Bootstrap Methods", published in its second edition by Springer in July 2014.
